It has become more and more common to find multiple candles in many houses. But why are people suddenly buying so many candles? The simple answer would seem to be, “We just like the way they smell,” right? Aromatherapy

Along with candles, the aromatherapy trend has also been on the rise as of late. Many people believe that different scented candles can help you feel certain things. For example, eucalyptus can be energizing and help improve focus, lavender can help to ease your mind and relieve stress, and lemon candles can be energizing and might even ease feelings of anxiety and depression. This could be why many people feel as if they can be more productive when they light a candle. 

Meditation

While the peaceful, calming nature of candles can be beneficial to meditation on its own, there are also many meditation techniques that involve focusing on the flame of a candle. For example, during your meditation, you could light a candle that puts your mind at ease and focus on the flicker of the flame as you let go of negative feelings or put your intentions into the universe.

Remembrance or Prayer

Our sense of smell is closely connected to our memories. Because of this, it is common for certain scents to remind us of our loved ones or of past experiences, or to light candles in memory of loved ones who have passed.
