What Your Favorite Scents Say About You

Many of us have scents that are uniquely ours, and we may think nothing of this, but the specific scent or scent profile that we gravitate towards says a lot about who we are as a person. If anything, these descriptions may be fun to see if they are accurate for yourself or that particular person in your life. So… what do your favorite scents say about you? 

Fruity

Somebody who gravitates toward a fruity candle, or a candle with fruity undertones, could be seen as somebody who is bubbly, charismatic, and always offers to go on spontaneous trips with friends. They will always be the first to eat the fruit at a picnic during the summer. They love to live their lives being a ray of sunshine to everybody around them.

Floral

People who like floral candles with notes such as rose, peony, or daisy are likely subdued and quiet, but when they are around their closest friends or family, that’s when they shine. Somebody who is put together and always arrives early to plans, they like structure, but also don’t mind letting loose with the people they hold close in their lives. 

Dessert

The people who gravitate towards the sweet, pastry-style candles are everybody’s go-to comfort person. They are always the voice of reason in their friend group, and while some of their friends prefer to go out on the town, they would much rather have a small get-together and watch movies with their closest friends or family. They love curling up with a good book and love rainy days filled with baking and great company. 

Aromatherapy

Those who gravitate towards candles with aromatherapy notes such as lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, and others in that vein are self-care experts. They love to take long baths and relax and are most likely the go-to crystal/metaphysical expert. They love being in nature and they love their succulents and will likely opt to grow their own produce rather than buying from the grocery store. They’ll always be the ones to suggest a hike over shopping unless it's at a crystal store. 

Vanilla 

If somebody’s favorite candles feature vanilla or vanilla notes, they are the energetic, sweet, life-of-the-party type. While they are the life of the party and energetic, they have a comforting warm side, just like vanilla. They will always try their best to make people feel welcome and their crazy, energetic personalities can rub off on people and become intoxicating in the best way possible.

Ocean

If their go-to candle is a clean ocean scent, they love life’s simple pleasures. Their favorite place to be is probably at the beach and they will always be the first ones to suggest a vacation. One of their favorite feelings is cleaning their room/house/apartment and getting into bed after cleaning their sheets, pillowcases, and comforter. They love feeling clean, and love the simple things in life, which…who could blame them? 

Scents are inherently personal because people are choosing what scent fills their room or space. Someone’s go-to scents can say a lot about who they are as a person, or what they enjoy in life. From the warm and cozy to the energetic and fun, the scents that they choose as their favorite or go-to are unique, just like them.
