Get Inspired By Fall for Your Home Decor

Fall is a time of change, so why not spruce up the inside of your home? With the changing of the leaves, you might feel inspired to bring some of the warmer tones into your space. A new coat of paint can make your space feel cozier and warmer on a chilly fall evening. Get inspired by the fall foliage and paint to give off relaxing fall vibes in the comfort of your own home.

Choosing the Right Colors

Fall is represented by the colors that come with the season: burnt orange, burgundy, rustic yellow, deep red, and warm browns to name a few. Make sure that you choose colors that will match the furniture that is already in your living space. Fall colors will provide a sense of warmth to a home, so make sure warm undertones are already present in your house decor. If you feel like changing it up, you could add a contrasting color that has a cool undertone, such as olive green or a cool grey. Pick some colors that you think will match your personal aesthetic.

Adding Texture

Autumn comes with many different textures, whether that be leaves, wood, or even the ridges on a pumpkin. There are several ways to add texture to your walls this fall. Primarily, there are textured paints, which naturally allow the paint to provide texture to your walls. Another option is to use a textured roller, which will add a texture as you roll on a regular, smooth paint to your wall. Texture is a great way to make your interior look a bit more dynamic.

Picking a Finish

The aspect of the paint that will tie it all together is the finish of the paint. There are 3 options of interior paint: glossy, satin, and matte. Glossy paint would come off similar as dewy leaves on a crisp fall day. In contrast, matte paint would come across as the leaves you rake at the end of fall that have no shine left, but are still just as beautiful. Between these two options is satin paint, which wouldn't be glossy, but would still have some shine to it. Again, when picking a paint finish it is best to consider the styles you already have in your home.

Autumn is a favorite season to many people, so painting the interior of your home to match the season is a fantastic way to enjoy fall all year. When painting your home using the inspiration of fall foliage, you may want to consider hiring a local painter to do the job for you. It is all about picking what is right for you and your home, so keep your personal preference at the front of your mind!
