Everyone loves candles, and this time of year, everyone loves to be outside! Now if only there were a way to safely combine those things… Well, there is-- and we’ve got some ideas for you!

If you’re an avid candle-lover, you’ve probably noticed over time that not all candles burn the same, and you’ve probably been wondering why. After all, it can be annoying when your candle doesn’t burn evenly! Did you know that this could partially be due to the fact that not all candles are made from the same type of wax? 

It has become more and more common to find multiple candles in many houses. But why are people suddenly buying so many candles? The simple answer would seem to be, “We just like the way they smell,” right? Believe it or not, however, there could be more psychological reasons for buying candles beyond that, given the benefits that candles can have.

Are you like the majority of homeowners with a closet, drawer, shelf, or other storage area full of various candle jars – every imaginable shape, size, and fragrance? Usually they end up saved instead of thrown out either because you don’t want to waste that final centimeter of wax OR you don’t want to throw away a perfectly good jar and save it until you just might need it.

Asparagus, oysters, avocados, and chocolate - doesn’t much sound like these items go together very well, so what is it that they have in common? They are all aphrodisiacs. An aphrodisiac is a substance or food that increases sexual desire, arousal, behavior, performance, or pleasure. When it comes time to set the mood, the use of aphrodisiacs is a good way to start. 

February has begun, Phil saw his shadow, so if you believe in such things, or have lived in the northeastern region for any length of time, we have six more weeks of winter ahead - ugh.
